Jamie Mittleman, Kolot Hayam Director
Jamie is a life-long student, artist, and performing arts educator. While her foray into the performing arts began in New Jersey, she currently lives in Tel Aviv and loves the beach almost as much as she loves her many creative endeavors. Jamie loves singing, writing, acting, directing, producing, playing the piano, and being a Zumba fanatic!
Jamie first found her love of Jewish a cappella while singing in Kaskeset at Binghamton University and later founded and continued singing with Cadence in NYC. After earning her undergraduate degree in theater, she then completed the two-year acting program at Esper Studio, an NYC-based conservatory.
Jamie credits learning the art of both formal and informal education to her time spent working at Golda Och Academy and Camp Ramah Nyack. While at Golda Och Academy, in addition to teaching, working on programming, and running the arts department, Jamie had the opportunity to direct many middle school and high school productions. After many years of working at Camp Ramah, Jamie now has the privilege of running Ramah Performs, a specialty performing arts camp.
Jamie has been a part of Kolot Hayam since its inception in 2010 and it has been one of the greatest joys of her life. She loves being the Kolot Hayam Director and working with so many exceptional students and educators. She loves watching the collective power of putting all of these voices together and cannot wait for another beautiful Kolot!
