What is a Kolot College Mentor?

This is a special program that was created in order to keep our awesome alumni as a part of our Kolot community! This opportunity is for a limited number of alumni and will serve as a bridge between the Kolot student experience and staff experience.  It is an opportunity for our mentors to come and enjoy the beauty of Kolot (as well as programming, meals, and accommodations) while sharing their hard-earned college wisdom and skills with our high schoolers. Each of our mentors will work with our Kolot Director to take on special leadership opportunities throughout the weekend including working as a Musical Mentor or a Kolot Council Mentor.

What does a Kolot College Mentor do?

Track 1: Musical Mentors-These mentors will be working with and singing with our Kolot Kohort! This is our Kolot Community Choir and is made up of students that sign up for Kolot independently, students from schools that are not competing with their choir, college alumni, and staff members. This is a special opportunity to bring together singers from non-participating schools and schools with choirs in their beginning phases of building. This group will be led by Mayta Cohen and many of our Kolot staff members.

Track 2: Kolot Council Mentors-We are always grateful for the people that work behind the scenes at Kolot Hayam and know that Kolot could not happen without their help! Our Kolot College Mentors will have a role in overseeing our Kolot Council with a focus on leadership, logistics, hospitality, and creativity. The students in this group will choose areas of interest to focus on throughout the weekend such as production, social media, photography, video production, stage management, logistics, organization, and catering. Our mentors will work directly with our professional staff to learn from them and help lead this team!
