Ariel Wyner
Ariel Wyner is an award-winning vocalist, instrumentalist, and graduate of Berklee College of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production with a focus on American Roots Music and bluegrass. He previously studied at Northwestern, where he performed with the NU Undertones, an ICCA award-winning collegiate group, revamped Northwestern’s Renaissance Singers, was the recipient of the Bel Canto Award, and won 1st place in the Chicago NATS awards. Ever since, Ariel has sung with various choral ensembles, including Choral Arts Philadelphia, Bienen Contemporary Ensemble, and the Jerusalem Chorale with the Israeli Philharmonic. He currently tours internationally with Jacob’s Ladder, a contemporary Jewish band uplifting prayer and nigun with bluegrass, folk, rock, Middle Eastern, and Americana styles. He has previously shared the stage and produced records with other big names in bluegrass, including Justin Moses, Jim Van Cleve, The Steep Canyon Rangers, and Ricky Scaggs as a band member, mandolinist, producer, and songwriter for The Ruta Beggars, an award-winning contemporary bluegrass band in Boston. Ariel currently serves as the Spiritual Leader at Kehillath Israel of Brookline MA, where he brings his hazzanut, songleading, his creative spin on Jewish music, and his community-building skills to grow, engage, and sustain Boston’s Jewish community through prayer and Jewish connection.
